The concept that would later become Variform Painting began in England where Ned Trimming grew up. Trimming was introduced to profession painting by working as an apprentice for a restoration expert. The focus of this apprenticeship was on preserving the English Heritage through the restoration of buildings and homes. The learning curve was steep and challenging because advanced knowledge and technical skills were required along with the important lessons and value of fairness and straight forwardness. After four years of training in England, Trimming immigrated to America to build his dreams of what Variform Painting should be.
